If you’re struggling, feel free to keep that in mind.įor anyone who finds difficult platformer discouraging, and failure automatically frustrating, hardcore platformers such as this will not be enjoyable for you. “Impossible” has no checkpoints within the level itself, while "Normal'' usually has at least one checkpoint somewhere. You also have two difficulty options named: “Impossible” and “Normal”. This game has less “cheap deaths” than the first and especially for people who don’t have that much platforming experience should definitely select Bloody Trapland 2, since there is no story connection to the first game whatsoever. The difference between the first entry is definitely that the levels feel way easier to get through. If one of your mates can’t complete a certain path, you might be able to help with enabling some shortcuts. Bloody Trapland offers you your typical hardcore 2D platforming experience, so some levels hide secrets that can be used to open up alternate paths and levels on the world map. Once you have achieved the goal, you’ll be able to go to the next. The goal is to come to the designated end of the single screen level you select. You are trying to help the male skunk free the female skunk, so they can continue to be happy. The story, while not really special or unique, is serviceable. Just be warned: world five is really difficult. So if you’re looking for more of the same after world four, feel free to check out world five once you’ve found all the coins and discovered/completed the bonus levels.
If you only want to see the credits, you need to only complete world four though. You’ll be able to discover jungle, sand, ice, lava and stone worlds, although world five is completely optional, but required in order to reach the true ending. Where Bloody Trapland does shine is its world map, especially on how it offers you a Super Mario Bros 3 type of selection on levels and worlds. Armed with this knowledge from earlier levels, the difficulty naturally ramps up in a way that doesn't feel unbeatable. In general, the pacing is well done, because in the beginning, levels are relatively easy, giving players time to process new dangers. If you’ve already played Bloody Trapland 1, and you want another difficult platforming co-op experience, then Bloody Trapland 2: Curiosity is definitely worth a shot.

The first entry in the series came out in 2013, so Bloody Trapland 2 took six years to finally be available outside of early access. I instantly bought it on a sale with my brother, in order to complete it. Bloody Trapland 2 is exactly what I thought it would be after playing Bloody Trapland 1: A better game progression- and difficulty-wise.
